Capital Metro Awarded ‘Best in Texas’ Mobile App

NEW YORK & AUSTIN, Texas June 17, 2014 Bytemark, a leading provider of mobile commerce solutions, today announced the mobile ticketing app it created for Austin's regional transportation provider, Capital Metro, received the "2014 Best of Texas" award in the Best Mobile/Wireless Project Category.The award-winning CapMetro App utilizes Bytemark’s patented mobile ticketing technology, which enables riders to purchase and store transit passes on their mobile devices. To use passes, riders simply show their smartphone screens to bus operators or scan the on-screen barcode upon boarding Austin’s MetroRapid vehicles.Since the app was launched in late January, it has been downloaded more than 46,700 times, totaling $295,000 in ticket sales.
